(no transcription available)

Um... listen at own risk. If your eardrums are split by slightly high pitched fangirlish giggles then please don't complain to me. I'm sorry. I apologise in advance. OH my gosh. My hands are shaking so much. Can barely type. Eeek. Jim. Pam. Enough said. Am too hyped up to ever sleep again.

ETA: There are no spoilers in the post.

YOU FORCED ME TO DO THIS POST WITH YOUR DVD LENDING AND YOUR ENCOURAGING OF JIM/PAM FANGIRLING SO OF COURSE YOU HAD TO COMMENT! Yeah. YEAH! Hehe, I'm totally still not over it. Gah, the way Pam's voice breaks when she's talking to her mum and she's like, "He's my best friend"! just kills me, almost as much as... everything that Jim does. Oh, my hearts.

Watched the first three episodes and yeah... I can see why people are complaining, but I also guess it's necessary to change things. You can't keep doing the exact same thing every season, can you? So as long as Jim somehow finds his way back to Scranton and Pam, it'll be all right. Except that I had involuntarily spasms and almost spat at the screen when Karen was flirting with Jim. I tried to have an open mind, but... there's no way anything can happen between those two because I think the world at large would revolt and it would not be pretty and some people on the Office writing staff would find themselves issued with death threats because you can't do that when the Great Love Story of Jim and Pam is only BEGINNING really and has had not an ounce of clsoure and, you know, they're both still so obviously in love with each other. Right. Well, by tonight I'll have caught up and I can't wait to read your 1000 word post!

Excellent response! And also: ICON LOVE! It's so cool that in this post there were three different versinos of that icon used. BECAUSE LOVE. And I need to find me some good quality Jim/Pam icons PRONTO.

HEEEE! WELL, YOU WERE ALL AUTHORITATIVE WITH THE NEED FOR THE LENDING OF SAID DVDS!! I love love the phone call [the fact that she's calling from Jim's phone!], and that we only get to hear Pam's side of the call, so the rest is left up to the imagination. 'Yeah, I think I am' Gah!! And the swoop in kiss. GAH!

Eee! Yay! And yeah, I have faith in the writers for trying to make it realistic - although it is frustrating that Jim and Pam have not spoken, and that we have new characters - I think it's most disconcerting that we have to flip flop between the two branches for storylines. But I love the subtleness of J/P missing each other in GWH - and despite my misgivings about the kiss flashback, them both giddy about the kiss, and Jim leaning in again - still gets me!! And the Coup?? Where Jim confesses that he left because of Pam [how he talks about being rejected twice shows why he's trying to move on] - and the 'hi Pam' on the phone, and the look when he hears about Pam's date! Gah. And Dwight got a hooker, I have to call... Heee! I'm trying to be openminded about Karen, and can sort of like the flirting, because Jim is trying to move on! But that's because I know, know that things can't ever end where with them because of Jim and Pam. HEE! Love that you''ll be caught up - yay for finally knowing what all the akljdlkajds has been about. You get a gold star for fangirling [can't wait for you to see The Initiation!]

Heh, well, you can never get enough kissing icons! You most definitely must!

Oh, I meant the convention, not the Coup - because Jim, Dwight, Michael together is awesome.

THAT'S RIGHT! I TOOK A STAND! AND THE RESULTS WERE GOOD! Exactly - it's Jim's phone because he's her best friend and she loves him and then they kiss and then she says she's wanted to do that for a long time as well and then they almost kiss again and then she's silly and then ALL OUR HEARTS WERE BROKEN, JIM'S AND PAM'S MOST IRREPERABLY THOUGH I'M SURE THEY'LL BE PUT BACK TOGETHER WITH SOME HARDWORK AND LOTS OF LOVE!

Okay. Faith in the writers. I've tried that before and sometimes it doesn't end well. But you listen to the commentaries and they're all clearly Jim/Pam 'shippers, so maybe the faith is in the right place. What was I saying last night? Something about how I'm disgusted by the Jim/Karen stuff? It's because it's Jim being the same as he always was, and he SHOULDN'T BE! He should be a different, less fun Jim now that he's no longer with Pam. I feel the dynamic is slightly forced, you know? Like they're very deliberately introducing this new love interest when everyone is still COMPLETELY HUNG UP on Jim and Pam. Hmm, perhaps it'll get better. BUT THEY NEED TO SEE EACH OTHER! That conversation was the best thing since... I don't know when, but MORE NEEDS TO HAPPEN! Oh yay - a gold star for fangirling! THat's the best award around, isn't it? I'm so very proud. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD TOO!

Well, I can't really save icons or upload them because everytime I try, ym computer goes absolutely spazzy. Some guy came in to replace the motherboard (whatever that is) the other day, but it's still not fixed. I might seriously have to get a new computer (it's under warranty, so that's all right). IT'S SO IRRITATING!
julester1: Jim/Pam - more than friendsjulester1 on October 29th, 2006 11:34 am (UTC)
Heee. Being authoritative reaps rewards! And hee - yes to all of that! Seriously, Jim so happy when he says he wanted to do that for so long?? The lean in. The hand holding! And the angst! And gah, in CN, as Jim walks away, JF does the best distraught look as she looks down at her engagement ring. Love! And ooh, you have to listen to CN commentary to hear how JF is talking about her reactions during that scene to JK's performance. Love!

Yeah, I think the Office writers know that J/P is the heart of the show, and won't mess too badly with it. Steve Carrell wrote CN - which I love. I think the dynamic is deliberatly forced, to show that Jim may be trying to move on, but it could never be the same with Karen. I still think it could go the more one sided route, because Karen so far seems more interested, and Jim is more just being his friendly, funny self. The phone conversation is so good - it sets things up so much for a face to face meet. Eeeee! WE ARE BOTH PROUD!

You seem to have found a way around the icon problem though - yay! And heh, I don't know what a motherboard is either, but can't believe you let a perfectly good TWW reference slide - motherboard so far up your ass....

The hand holding really gets me because he squeezes in a way that's like, "I love you. Why are you doing this? It's only going to hurt both of us." but it's so tender and yet... she's breaking his heart when she does it! THAT DAMN ENGAGEMENT RING. I've read a bit of fanfic that seems to think it was only in that conversation that she realised she loved him, but that's clearly not true. Her reaction isn't, "OH MY GOD, WHAT????" it's "what are you doing?" as in, "hey, I know you feel this way, and I do too, but we've had this unspoken agreement to just NOT TALK ABOUT IT, so what the hell are you doing?" Maybe it's just my opinion, but she totally already knew she loved him. Awww, yeah, I watched the commentary last week and it's true! His performance was SO FANTASTIC! So was hers, of course. THEY'RE ALWAYS WONDERFUL!

Yep, good point. They have to be aware that millions of fans are living and dying with the dramas of Jim and Pam. Weren't they saying on the commentary that Steve was really pushing for the kiss and the "I'm in love with you"? I reckon he's a 'shipper too, or at least knows what good storytelling is. Yeah, Karen is definitely more intersted in Jim, and she probably doesn't know that he's currently heart-broken and in love with his best friend. Maybe he'll give in to her a little bit, but he'll always come back to Pam. RIGHT???

Not a good way. I just go on Cress' computer to deal with them, but she's on it a lot so I can't do it that often. Eeek, what was I thinking? My mind has been away from TWW for too long, I think! (But my heart is never far from it...)
julester1: John and Jenna - so cute!julester1 on October 31st, 2006 03:31 am (UTC)
Yeah, gah. He really can't believe that she's still saying no - but feels like he has done everything that he could possibly do. Poor Jim!! And YES! I absolutely agree with your interpretation too - 'what are you doing?' and that look that Jim gives her, which says, you absolutely know what I'm doing - don't pretend that you don't. It's always been Pam trying so hard to convince herself that there isn't anything there, and Jim, to at least keep the friendship going, has played a long with it. Gah. I love that Jim goes straight from just, can I talk to you about something, and then can't hold it in - I'm in love with you. And needed for you to hear it ...once. Eeek! Hee, I loev Jenna talking about how as they were doing the conversation, all she could think about was how amazing John was being. Heh.

Ha. Yes, Steve is totally pulling for J/P - and how they didn't follow the usual thing of having the declaration as the cliffhanger. RIGHT!

Because he basically DID do all he could do without getting agressive, which I'm not sure would have been a really sound move in that situation anyway, so maybe it was a good choice. Eh, he knows Pam better than anyone, right? Oh my God... that look... it kills me so much. And the, "come on, I don't want to do that." A;DFKA;LSDKJF;LKJ! WHy does he want to break all of our hearts like that? Imagine how much he must have psyched himself up for that conversation! And yeah... just going into it would have been the easiest way, probably. ARGH, THIS IS MAKING ME SO SAD BUT IN A GOOD WAY!

The whole episode was just the best one ever. Does everyone just love it to death? Ugh, I saw taht there's a Jim/Karen community. THat makes me rather ill. Each to their own, I guess... BUT STILL, WHERE'S THEIR LOYALTY?
julester1julester1 on November 1st, 2006 05:19 am (UTC)
Hee! Just the whole speech by Jim is just so heartbreakingly perfect. Love!!! I WANT TO BE MORE THAN THAT!! Putting it all out there - gah. And I think it was definitely the poker game that convinced hin - they were just so happy and Pam was being so cute and gorgeous - he decided he had to take his chance before deciding to do the transfer. Also?? That mind control and wink and smile? Love!! Pam being so giddy because Jim seemed to okay with the wedding stuff, and them Jim saying he had no future at Scranton?? GAH.

Yes, I think Casino Night is really well loved. Ha. A lot of people seem happy to see Jim/Karen in the short term, although most seem to acknowledge the futility in the long term. We can wait!

Jim is perfect. HE IS! I've been blinded by reading fanfic, I think (awww, that one you recommended was really good! That's how it should be. Jim and Pam together are better! Well, that' sjust obvious. Why do I bother saying these thigns? Who are they benefitting?) but, seriously, he's a great guy. And he uses fabric softener! I don't do that. (But my mum might. Who knows?) THE WINK! God, could she have been flirting more openly and just been showing her love more blatantly than that? The looks and the smiles Jim and Pam are always sharing well... they say everything, don't they? Here I am, being Captain Obvious again! Um, yes, the juxtaposition with her happiness and his "I have no future" was quite extremely upsetting. But realistic.

Happy to see Jim/Karen? No, that's wrong! Not that I have Jim/Pam blinkers on, or anything. Yes, patience! I have this vague memory about waiting for a while for this really pretty blonde lady and a guy with... dimples? Something boyish. I just seem to remember that they had a thing going but it was a while before anythign came of it. Come to think of it, did that end up working out? Who knows.
